Over time, your skin is affected by exposure to UV light, which can cause pigmentary changes on the surface of the skin. The result can be sun or age spots as well as freckles. Some skin is affected by pigmentary changes at birth, called nevi or birthmarks. Regardless of the pigmentary condition, the Aerolase Neo Elite can safely and effectively treat your pigmented lesion, resulting in an even and uniform skin tone.

Advanced Treatment of Pigmented Lesions

Historically, Nd:YAG 1064nm lasers have not been used for the removal of hyperpigmented skin conditions such as sun & age spots, melasma, and PIH (post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation). This is because melanin absorption is relatively low with the 1064nm wavelength. But a new generation of 1064 laser technology, contained within the Neo laser from Aerolase, provides much more effective and rapid heating of hyperpigmentation, delivering treatment efficacy equivalent to laser modalities used previously such as Alexandrite or Diode. This is made possible by 650-microsecond pulse technology, which provides over 15,000 watts per pulse.

 

The Neo is so effective in breaking up hyperpigmentation, yet is also uniquely safe and gentle on darker skin types. The 650-microsecond pulse technology of the Neo enables the skin to cool itself between pulses, such that anesthetics nor skin cooling during treatment is necessary.

Pre Care

-Avoid botox, fillers, or any other facial treatments such as chemical peels for 2 weeks prior and post treatment.

-Avoid direct sun exposure, chemical exfoliants such as AHA, BHA, retinol for 10 days prior AND post treatment.

-Avoid alcohol for 24 hours prior.

-Bring a hat to wear home from your appointment

 

Post Care

-Slight swelling and a sunburn feeling may be present immediately after and for a few hours following treatment.

-Expect redness for 24-48 hours post treatment.

-Avoid alcohol for 48 hours.

-Do not wash for 24 hours.

-Avoid rubbing or touching your skin.

-Makeup can be applied the next day but it is preferable to avoid it.

-Do not sleep with makeup on.

-You may notice small red dots as the skin heals. Do not scrub or pick at them and allow to fall off on their own.

-Use post care products as directed.

-Avoid direct sun exposure and use a mineral/physical sunscreen of SPF 30 or greater daily.

-Avoid scrubbing and chemical exfoliants for at least 10 days after treatment. You may resume use of normal products once the skin surface is fully healed and dots are no longer visible.
